The Colours of Happiness
"The Colours of Happiness" is a collection of photographs taken using wild, organic, variable, expressive and multidirectional intentional camera movements, with the aim of documenting the uplifting, bold and often vibrant colours, patterns and energy of happy moments in time.
The camera is effectively used to paint these abstract minimal pictures that depict emotion through movement. The process of painting the picture through the energy created from my mood, which is expressed in the way I move the camera and lens while the shutter is open, the light that I select and the way in which I bring these elements together, becomes much more important to the resulting piece of art than the subject that was infront of the camera. Due to the camera movements, the subject, in a traditional sense, is actually rendered unrecognisable, lost, making the colours and patterns of light captured the key focus.
